Default Possible purchase

Good day to all. Looking at a possible purchase of a 97 SD. Single owner, 134k miles. Questions, are these as bad as many claim? Are parts hard to find? Are they as durable as other say? This maker seems to have the best and worst reviews. Never have I read of such kanudrums as this make and model. Thank in advance

They are excellent vehicles but you do need to maintain them. If you don’t want to work on it don’t buy it. If you want to do some work to maintain it, it will probably be the favourite vehicle you’ve ever had.

Thank you. Maintenance is an issue, it appears to be, by whats been written a constant need and expense. Ive had a couple jeeps so maintenance isn't then real problem its the question of extent and cost.

Parts are readily available and aren’t expensive. Unlike your Jeep though, often the parts need to be ordered from out of town. Depending on what Jeeps you’ve had, you may not need to work on the Disco as much as the Jeep after taking it off-road. Land Rovers are built very well and are very capable off-road. It will be much nicer on road as well.
