Default Search is over!!! 04 Disco is in the fold.

So Ive been looking and looking and obsessing and over analyzing..of course this site has been a huge help. I finally decided on a Disco 2. Picked it up last night. After an almost 8 hour drive, she’s at her new home. The gentleman I bought it from took very good care of it and many of the standard issues have been addressed. I had a chance to go for an 01, also in great shape, but too many unknowns and 3 amigos were on...plus the 04 has CDL which, wile many say its not needed, is just something I wanted. I fully realize this will be a labor of love but my family is excited and we are ready for what this has to bring. I’m relieved the search is over. More to come!

Looks really nice. The great part is you’ve done your due diligence and can enjoy it and not have to stress about fixing stuff.

So did this one have the 7 seats? And does it have rear AC? I LOVE having rear AC and it is a huge help during the heat of the summer.

Congrats. Is it my imagination or does it already have a lift?

Thanks!

Nope it doesn’t have a lift, I’m still not sure what size tires most people or running on these but this one has 255/70R16 which is a 30” tire. He said that it had 32” tires on it one time, probably 275/70/16 or 265/75/16, but they didn’t last long because they were too loud

No, it’s a 5 seater. I’m good with that.

My whole family is already hooked on the the truck. We had a ball in it today. What I’m going to do is set aside extra money that I earn to equal about one and a half times the purchase price of the vehicle. I already have a good start with extra money left over from what I budgeted to spend on the purchase. I plan to pay for stuff..mods and repairs..out of that fund. Then rebuild the balance whenever I spend from it. Whenever the fund is full I should have enough to replace the engine if it ever comes to that or if I am so inclined. I have a feeling that will be within the next 3 years. After that Ill keep that “Discovery fund” a bit lower LOL! My number one priority is to get the thing mechanically sound and sort out surprises then Ill start seriously modding it out. It’ll be a beast when Im done. I just want to set myself up to where I don’t have to stress over it and curse the truck every time it needs something. Of course I’ll have to weigh everything as it happens, and I know stuff will happen that need repair...and there’s a few things I need for it already to meet daily needs and update it to my standards. That’s already in the works.
More to come.
