Hello every one out there I'm a little new to this. I have a 98 hse Rover 4.6 , I'm changing the ratio of the diffs to a 4.10 so I can pull my caravan a little easier. I wondered if any one could tell me where to find a repair manual for the final drive. I can't see any break down in the p38 workshop manual.

 

The RAVE shows individual repairs, but not an over all view, it does have that on the D2 for example. Also Range Rover P38A Drivetrain Parts Available from RoversNorth.com may give you some guidance. But another question - when towing, could you accomplish this by using 3rd gear rather than overdrive? Many Detroit vehicles caution towing users to not operate in over drive, this speeds up the transmission pump and circulates fluid faster, more cooling. May want to re-post under "general" to get more eyeballs and opinions on it.
