I know where I live they were calling victims of motorcycle accidents covid deaths because they tested positive for the virus in their autopsy. I don't believe the 500,000 figure. I don't deny that the virus is out there and dangerous to those who are immune compromised but the political hype has everyone in fear mode... There is a difference between dying OF covid and WITH covid that apparently gets overlooked... The 500,000 death figure is the WITH figure, not the OF figure. I won't even go into false positives, we had one of those at work, everyone got quarantined for 10 days then the same guy got another test and was negative. At this point I doubt anyone knows what the actual number is.

 

In Canada it’s really a joke. Small business and people have suffered for what ?
they shut down our economy March 16 2020. Up until 3 weeks ago I was still allowed to travel to Cuba Dominican etc hundreds of thousands of immigrants and regular flyers have entered the country every week.
the supposed death rate in long term care homes were out of control they brought in the military to help the long term care homes
Walmart major grocery stores remained open full capacity small businesses closed

now as of 3 weeks ago we are in lockdown 3. Anyone flying into Canada must land in 4 airports and be sent to a government contracted hotel for min 3 day quarantine at $2000 plus expense awaiting the COVID test. Which by the way they had to have one negative 2 days before arriving.
why did it take this long to put travel restrictions? Walmart remains open but I can’t go into my local pet store
they are now setting up a big mobile hospital in the parking lot of a hospital mind you we had one set up for 8 months in Oakville which was empty my wife works at a hospital she never saw the intensive car busy

All the politics aside, there will likely be some form of proof of health (Covid passport or EU Digital Travel Certificate?) required for international travel to many countries, and maybe even mandatory internal travel quarantining (without proof of a negative test), like Hawaii in the USA. Here, the test for travel to Hawaii costs about $150 each and the vaccination is free, so that's pretty much a no-brainer as long as Hawaii accepts it. The vaccination efforts presently underway are just one part of a process to minimize and try to stamp out transmission, which was successful against Polio and Measles, although Measles is presently making a bit of a comeback. Bitching about our human rights has no effect at an international border where if you don’t have the correct paperwork, you are going to be refused entry. I’ll be getting the vaccination mainly because I believe in it but also because I don’t want any complications when I’m travelling out of the country. The writing is on the wall, we just have to read it and accept the consequences of our personal decisions. Just my additional $0.02 worth...

 

Funny you should mention that Dave03, I have several friends which had family members die last year. One was from an awful automobile accident, and when they received the death certificate it listed the cause of death as Covid. It had nothing on it mentioning death due to blunt force trauma caused when the victim left the roadway at 80+ MPH and hit a tree. Another one was from someone loosing their grandmother from just passing away in her sleep. She had no heath issues at all when she passed away and yet again they listed the cause of death was due to Covid on the death certificate.. Not saying Covid isn't killing people, but a lot of #'s are being tweaked to strike fear into the general public.

The only Vaccine which I would even consider is the one by Johnson & Johnson. It actually contains a tiny part of the virus vs the others out there which genetically alter your DNA.. I have the antibodies and I'm in good health so I'm not worried about Covid. I've got a lot more important things to worry about to be honest. I could die every single day at work from a crazy idiot wanting to rob the ATM I'm working on, or I could die out on the road driving around during my day by some idiot that can't drive!

I am sick and tired of seeing state parks closed, small businesses close up for good, and people acting like the end of the world is here. Covid is not going anywhere it will be a thing just like the flu meaning sure take the vaccine and if you get sick your body will have quicker response to get over it which is great for those with weakened immune systems. The USA has lost it's backbone IMHO which is sad. I'm glad I live in TX that's for sure!

 

Those quality indicators are unfunny to those affected, a false equivalency to morbidity rates, but also misleading. 51% of Canadian harmful events are: Electrolyte and Fluid Imbalance, Urinary Tract Infections, Delirium, Anemia — Hemorrhage and Pneumonia. Also while 12.5% of harmful event hospitalizations end in death, 3.1% of hospitalizations without harmful events end in death also - both numbers are horrible. In other words, sick people tend to get care, and regardless of harmful events, sick people are more prone to die. Implicitly comparing quality indicators to morbidity rates is apples to oranges. If you're going to do that, why not try gun deaths?

Perhaps out of all this, I hope population health gets more attention. It's apparent that generally the populations are unhealthier, so if not COVID, what about the next one?

 

Gun deaths will make a sudden important come back once they start the ball rolling on so called assault rifles aka semi automatic rifles. Then after that the poor sea turtles dying by straws will come back as well. However the new trash I am seeing = those damn mask either the disposable ones or the cloth ones!!! When I see them it makes it clear to me what is killing the world & it's not Covid, it's the human race.

 

That's why Nature sends diseases like Ebola and Covid (SARS variation) to the human race, one of these days she'll get it right, and we only have ourselves to blame...

 

Here is a prime example of someone obviously not in the medical field. Check your information. An autopsy isn't something done ***** nilly. It isn't done for political reasons. Your statement above is 1000% inaccurate and wrong. This is fear mongering by I'll informed "news" corporations w an agenda. The medical field. Does. Not. Work. Like. This. PERIOD.

 

Yeah, people make up BS stories all the time about causes of deaths. If there was any truth there would be drastic drops in other types of deaths. There is not. Anyone who says someone who died in an accident was written up as COVID instead is simply a liar, period.
