Bikers? Wanna trade my 1996 748 Ducati for a Harley
...an older harley.....
my racing bike days are over. i want something i can tinker with and put around San Juan with. I saw an old sportster last night with a saddle seat and immediately wanted it. i'm not a harley "type" but that bike looked the *****.
problem is my bike is not running and it's in NYS but I'll get to that. Anyone got a suggestion on what I should look for.
i'm not adverse to a Norton, BSA or Triumph either.

Slang,
Have you ever looked at the V-twin Yamaha Verago? Driveshaft instead of a chain. The Yamaha's will outdo the Harleys in many ways and look awesome as well. And the prices are much better for what you get. Most of the Yamaha, Suzuki and Honda's these days are quite impressive.
I know Harley is an American Icon, but there are so many good bikes out there today that are really fine riding machines.
