Look, it's a simple fact, and I'll say it again, more Americans have been killed by extreme right terrorists in the last 15 years than any other group(s). We, as a nation have much to be concerned about when we see our dear leader pandering to these sorts of characters. It doesn't bode well.
Bottom line is this.
The white supremecist group is morally wrong.
But, they had a permit, to legally assemble, so according to the law, they are in the right.
Now, organize a group to go down and protest against them.
Which is illegal, and rightfully so. Because why would you legally allow both sides to be there at once...because you know what is inevitable, violence.
Instead of giving the WS their right, people feel the need to antagonize them (regardless that ws is wrong).
Why not leave them be? A fight is what they were looking for anyway, and is exactly what they got.
After the ws's permit expired, they leave, or get arrested, also the law. They've spewed their hate, and it's done, nothing will change how they feel anyway.
But, it was allowed to escalate to what it did.
Society is being played by government.

The Governor of VA declared a state of emergency on Saturday calling off the rally early Saturday afternoon.

There have been hundreds if not thousands of protests all over this country in the last eight or nine months. How many people have been murdered in the same way we saw people murdered in London, Paris and Nice at those protests here in the US? I think it's disingenuous of you to say that it is inevitable that violence will occur whenever opposing sides meet in protest.
"Instead of giving the WS their right, people feel the need to antagonize them (regardless that ws is wrong)."
You know why thousands turned out to counter the neo ****'s, KKK and alt right a$$holes? It's because we have a President who panders to the extreme right. We, as American's have, in Trump, lost a leader who actually knows right from wrong. I go back again to the tweet of the Trump Train, a wholly insensitive tweet a few days after a young woman was run over by a neo ****. We have CEO's jumping ship from his worthless economic council and his childish response it to tweet insults. WTF is wrong with this man???
Thousands turned out because they realize it's quickly coming down to them to defend American values. We cannot have a President drawing false equivalence between the s#$tbags on the right and hundreds of clergyman and laic (National Council of Churches) and thousands of young Americans who came to protest. Just today, in Trump's sham of a press conference he actually said there were "wonderful people" on both sides of the protest. "Wonderful" white supremacists. I think not. But it is this level of equivocation that forces the hand of those who will not let America slip into fascism.
I said it above in my post to Hamal, I am not happy with the Antifa or their associates but they wouldn't have been there without the presence of a thousand or more white supremacists. (And, thousands of white supremacists wouldn't have been there if they didn't feel, under this administration, that their time has finally come.) I am also not happy about any misbehavior on the part of and counterprotester but when Fields slammed into the car in front of him and then backed up over a dozen more people, the marches and counterprotests were winding down. The stream of counterprotesters were, essentially, celebrating what they perceived as a victory over the white supremacist crowd. It was at that point, in an act of fury, Fields decided to exact his revenge for a day that didn't turn out as he and many of his cohorts had planned.
As long as we have a President like Trump, sending mixed messages on a daily basis, this is only going to get worse.

I thought this study by the Cato Institute, a libertarian think tank was interesting.
https://www.cato.org/blog/terrorism-...sville-anomaly
If we were to remove 9/11 from the findings, the most dangerous extremist groups in the US in terms of murder and violence against people would be those on the far right.
"Islamist terrorists are the deadliest since 1992. They killed about 14 times as many people as Nationalist and Right Wing terrorists who, in turn, killed about 10 times as many people as Left Wing terrorists did. The deadliness of terrorists by ideology has changed over time and will continue to do so. Charlottesville was a tragedy and the person responsible should be tried and, if convicted, punished to the fullest extent possible under the law. However, it is important to realize that the actual scale and scope of the recent terrorist threat differs significantly by ideology even though the annual chance of being murdered in such an attack is still small."

That's a pretty big "if".
Islam wants to kill everyone who disagrees with them.
And they do a better job than any other hate group on the planet.
And the reason the Va governer called off the rally saturday afternoon...was because of the violence.
Pay attention to the faces in the crowd of the liberal protesters, at protests nationwide. You'll see alot of the same faces, as they are paid to protest/aka initiate violence. The protestors against the ws came armed with bats, **** filled balloons, and other weapons too.
Yeah, they were peaceful alright.
The ws group are wrong...and so are the ones who showed up against them starting violence.
But, when Trump denounced violence on all sides, it was racist?? Again, liberals preach tolerance...as long as it fits in their box.
I'm not defending Trump, just pointing out the double standard.
Two wrongs don't make a right.
If the protesters on the left are so just, why are they inciting violence to prove their point?
The point is mute.
I agree to civilly disagree.

Wow, I can't even believe how you completely missed my point.
But, that's ok. Keeping believing that the people that were there to protest were just as bad as those people wrapped in the garb of Nazism and White Supremacism. No doubt, they're all equivalent in your mind.
Meanwhile, the almost 400,000 American soldiers who died in WWII to protect us from Nazism are rolling in their grave.
Go ahead, keep making false equivalences.

Not equal in my mind.
Both bad in their own right.
The liberal protestors accomplished nothing in terms of defeating ws.
WW2 soldiers (whom I have nothing but the highest respect and admiration for), would be "rolling in their graves" over the Left's agenda.
Ws hasn't gained ground, they are a statistically small group. They are in no position to rise up and overthrow government. And, if the government were to suddenly become neo ***** overnight (which would be terrible), there's not a thing you, me, or any other citizen can do about it.
I love the U.S, but it's future looks bleak.
And as for a previous comment of "America 1st" being "scary", I think is ridiculous. Regardless what country you're from, or what country you live in, That country Should be first to you. That is patriotism. Supporting number one. If you don't take care of yourself, you are in no position to help anyone else.
America should be first to Americans. We can and should trade with allies...but not send them all our jobs.
Don't trust the government.
It also never ceases to amaze me how so many blame the president. Regardless of who they are.
They are no more than a puppet with a little pull on the strings. There is a group of true world leaders, manipulating things behind the scenes(the economy, society, threats of war, ect, playing politics), and you'll never know who they are.
Welcome to serfdom, serf.
Open your eyes America. We kill each other because of what part of the globe someone, or their ancestors came from.
The nonsense in Charlottesville was wrong on both sides.
Ws to start with, and every fool that wanted to fight, thinking that solves it.
Society is being manipulated, as the powers that be sit back and watch us tear our countrt, ourselves, apart.
Makes it even easier for big brother to take more freedoms/rights away, to protect us from ourselves.
Both bad in their own right.

I beg to differ. We have an administration that has gone out of its way to cultivate a comfortable relationship with the Alt Right. Steve Bannon, in his time at Breitbart, did everything he could to create a following for that website. Now, he sits next to Trump in the Oval Office. Read up on Sebastian Gorka, another one of Trump's questionable cronies. To think for an instant that the forces of the extreme right don't feel emboldened by this administration, you haven't been paying attention. David Duke, the former Grand Wizard of the KKK just the other day, in an interview said Trump owes the white nationalist movement for his victory. It was they who voted him into power.
You're showing a lapse in American history when you fail to grasp the meaning of America First. The slogan had it's start about a year or two before be entered WWII. It was a slogan for the America First Committee, a group started at Yale University. It counted among its members many pro **** business leaders. The biggest public spokesman for the group was Charles Lindbergh. Even Gerald Ford and Sargent Shriver were early members of the group. People like Lindbergh, Henry Ford, Avery Brundage, and the like were hardcore anti semites. The last thing they wanted to do was intervene in Europe even if it meant the fall of the UK.
Look up Charles Lindbergh's speech in Des Moines, Iowa in the fall of 1941. He blames the British, the Jews and the Roosevelts for agitating for war. He also takes a swipe at Hollywood because, well, you know, it was run by Jews. It was a wonderful attempt to absolutely minimize the horror that was taking place in Europe.
A quick book by Philip Roth called "The Plot Against America" published shortly after 9/11 is a neat little read that presents an alternative history where Lindbergh won the 1940 Presidential election. It's worth a read.
I could go on about "America First" but I won't. I would suggest that before you say there's nothing wrong with that slogan, you do some investigating on your own. Make yourself aware of people like Father Coughlin and some of the other cast of characters who proudly supported American isolationism and pro **** sentiments. For anyone with a good sense of history, we knew exactly what Trump meant when he said things like MAGA. His words resonate in a most unpleasant way.
You should also familiarize yourself with a man by the name of Lee Atwater, the absolute master of dog whistle politics. Spend some time learning about Nixon's Southern Strategy. It's all pretty eye opening.
Again, I could go further if you have any interest whatsoever.
"It also never ceases to amaze me how so many blame the president. Regardless of who they are."
The role of the President and the powers he holds, regardless of whom he is, has expanded greatly over the last 75 years. We have watched an imperial executive branch grow while the legislature has shirked its responsibility. So, I have to disagree with your opinion that the President is little more than a puppet.
I can see you're into all the conspiracy theories surrounding the Rothchild's, the Vatican and Colonel Sanders (I hope you're familiar with the movie "So I Married an Axe Murderer"). That's all well and good but we still have to live in the world, in the here and now. We can lament, all we like about the powers that lord over us or we can work towards meaningful change.
It's funny, you tell me to open my eyes but all the while you're ignoring history, wrapping yourself in conspiracy theories and handing me a line about the futility of it all. I don't know how old you are but that kind of defeatist attitude is only going to make the rest of your life more and more unbearable.
