That is correct.
From Gen 2 onwards the compressor is electrically driven so no belt!
Powered by the voltage converter (that brief case box on top of the transmission ) It is sensitive to moisture, so a special refrigerant oil MUST be used and obviously a dedicated A/C recovery machine used to service it.

Who cares about the carbon footprint etc it's a lot of mumbo jumbo to support an industry making loads of dosh and paying HUGE taxes and some more when all governments impose their own taxes and penalties. The French government, bless their little cotton socks, has once again been captured by the EU imposing an illegal tax via..................you guessed it...............a state owned company.

Even IF the great brains are finally proved right I'll be long dead and buried like the rest of us on here before the planet implodes. Given that theory - who actually cares as most governments don't. Since when did imposing taxes ***** nilly actually solve the so called 'global warming' or as it's now called 'climate change' 'cos it wasn't actually realistic calling it 'global warming' so they dreamt up another more feasible name to rob everyone blind. Selfish, too bl00dy right.

Pet hate (eco climate change crookery) RANT over

there you go 10 hp more, replace your belt driven Disco compressor with an electric.

Against my ethnic fiscal approach of minimum spend on vehicles.

HMMmm
Problem is that the first generation of the Gen 2 Denso /Prius compressors run on 42 volts. This is a take off spur from the input/output into the liquid cooled converter at a rated 264 volts 3 phase DC. (the orange wires an all that!)

On a Disco it would mean a big generator cobble up to make it all work!
PLUS a stack of modules and control units.
You would be changing down to a lower gear climbing hills with all that extra weight
