That is correct.
From Gen 2 onwards the compressor is electrically driven so no belt!
Powered by the voltage converter (that brief case box on top of the transmission ) It is sensitive to moisture, so a special refrigerant oil MUST be used and obviously a dedicated A/C recovery machine used to service it.

Who cares about the carbon footprint etc it's a lot of mumbo jumbo to support an industry making loads of dosh and paying HUGE taxes and some more when all governments impose their own taxes and penalties. Problem is that the first generation of the Gen 2 Denso /Prius compressors run on 42 volts. This is a take off spur from the input/output into the liquid cooled converter at a rated 264 volts 3 phase DC. (the orange wires an all that!)

On a Disco it would mean a big generator cobble up to make it all work!
PLUS a stack of modules and control units.
You would be changing down to a lower gear climbing hills with all that extra weight
