Thumbs down Ford Raptor SVT not so tough after all!

My cousin (big Ford guy) was bragging about how a Raptor would tear a Range Rover to pieces... he made afew good points. But a little research amazed me. Seems that once again Ford is falsely advertising. In the reviews and commercials you see the Raptor speeding off insanely high jumps and taking one hell of a beating. Supposedly they have excellent suspension which makes this possible. But what they forgot to mention is that the rear section of the frame is weak and the bed has a tendency to sag!

Ford Raptor Frames Bending - Bed Alignment issue! - FORD RAPTOR FORUM - Forums and Owners Club!

then theres this little vid which made me laugh.

Recently a fellow forum member here made a thread about a commercial Ford made and I guess they were advertising an incorrect and unsafe method for doing a recovery of another vehicle? Coudnt find the thread but.

yes, you are correct in fords effort to make it quicker they cut Swiss cheese holes in the frame.
This has be done since the early 60's, the problem ford has is one of the holes is right under were the cab and bed meet.
There is a recall a believe and they bolt a plate over that hole inside and out, if my memory serve me.

The air suspension on the range rover will blow out before the springs on the Ford. Trust me, I know from my training.

"Swiss cheese holes"
One of the Ford forum members (in first link) was saying how he brought his Raptor back to Ford for examination and long story short they said there was nothing they could do to fix his truck. They also pointed out all the scratches underneath his truck and on the body panels, implying that he was being to rough with the vehicle. He argued that the stunt drivers operating the Raptor in the Ford commercials are far more brutal on the truck then he was, not to mention the commercials clearly imply that the Raptor can take a serious beating. Seems its not an isolated incident on the Raptor models (I know you said its been a problem for quite awhile) and several other Raptor owners experienced exact same problem.....

** I bet its alot cheaper to replace a bad air suspension component on a Land Rover then it is to repair a damaged, weak or otherwise bent frame and sagging bed on a brand new Ford Raptor!
