i turned 27 in june. I'm nuts. I wanted a a 4x4, had a bit of cash laying around and like everything i do i jumped into it FULL BORE before doing any research. Didnt look into their problems, didnt see what i should pay for it. Just dropped (dont laugh) 4500 on it but it only had maybe 79k miles on it. that was november of '09. Just like my other project cars or anything i do, it's not sufficient until all the option boxes are checked. There's something OCD about me where it has to be TOTALLY tricked out or it's not even worth it. So i'm SLOWLY taking the crackhead-cheap bastard approach to making my truck look like brians (longhaul) and run an as long as phils (spike). I've got a lot of miles to catch up though. I'm only at 90,500

31 in December. I do a lot of long distance self-supported bicycle touring and one day started watching some random video of people crossing massive deserts and rain forests totally self supported, loaded to the roof with equipment and foot to the floor in Land Rovers and Land Cruisers.

Around the same time a close friend was talking about visiting family in Belize and we got to talking about how cool it would be to drive all the way down. So I just started looking for the closest thing to a tank within my budget and really liked the simplicity of the discovery.

Now I doubt owning a discovery is really necessary to get down there but I sure as hell intend to take it out from in between 'The Mustard and the Mayo' and check out a few places I probably wouldn't normally be able to.

LOL I wish I could have afforded a Range Rover at 18. I am 31. I was just saying I still feel 18 but I have 13 years experience.
