Hola Rover world! I’m going to ramble a bit, because this is the off-topic section and it appears that rambling is what I like to do. I’m sitting here, watching it storm, thinking about how much I love the change of seasons. Don’t get me wrong… I don’t look forward to winter and I dislike snow very much. I do, however, love observing the slow progression of summer, changing to autumn, and all that it brings. Once my mind has accepted that the seasons are changing, I’m able to embrace it for all it’s worth. I threw a curry in the crockpot as I dashed out the door and am entertaining the thought of building a fire sometime this week. Those two things make everything better
Snugged up here in my office with the window cracked, the leaves are swirling outside like a whirling dervish, not settling long before they pick up the beat again. I half expect a black cat to jump up on my window like he did last year, shortly before Halloween. I often think about him and wonder if he made it inside, out from the cold. It broke my heart when he wouldn’t answer my call.
We have an office dog now – he cracks me up. A blue heeler, he greets me everyday with such enthusiasm, licking my hands and jumping all over me. His master says ‘he really is drawn to you – it’s crazy how he seeks you out’. He growls at my nemesis, which, I have to admit, makes me smile. Perhaps animals sense energy too?
He’d make a good Rover dog – happy go lucky and I could see him riding shot gun if my Rover was moving at all. I’ve got so many things to do and so little time. I’m sure many can relate. It brings me some comfort knowing that I’m not the only one with a laundry list of items to tend to. It’s good to know that you’re not alone and that the love is real, even if your Rover, for the time being, is just a decoration.
I hope you and yours are enjoying the autumn and all that it brings. I picked a beautiful, colored leaf today and pinned it to my wall. As Mr. Rogers would say 'Won’t you be my neighbor' and do the same? I'd love to see some photos of the autumn splendor in your neck of the woods. Rovers are a plus!!
@landlover_1 sure endless rain, large amounts of leaves and cedar to rake up. And this year freaking huge mushrooms, 1 was a good 9 inches across flat topped thing.
But seriously yes, things do not change much out in the Pacific Northwest, but it is quiet as all the fair weather folks stay home and get out on gravel.
