I belong to a UK Pajero/Shogun forum, it amazes me how many buy these knackered 4x4's at the going rate without any research or knowledge and often with multiple defects, some serious defects as well. They like the look, color and have always 'fancied' a 4x4 without considering the defects, running costs and maintenance of older trucks and then whinge and expect endless assistance by other members with those defects rather than closely inspecting the truck beforehand and parting with cash. I'm sure it happens in the US but you rarely see these forlorn owners on this forum, they are more canny and less stupid when buying. What's your take on this dilemma.

 

It's the damn hipsters. Same kids paying $25-40k for a 120k mile Discovery.
