ignition key snapped off in ignition
hey fellas my key snapped off in my ignition and i dont have any money for a lock smith, it snapped in two places. I was able to remove the middle section but cannot get the tip of the key out to use my spare key and cant find a place that carries these keys or i would just cut my spare down and use that, any way to hot wire these this for the time being? i really need help and im pretty broke and ghetto rigging solutions?????

Don't cut your spare key!! Most likely the end of the key that is still in the ignition has worked it's way deeper into the switch, so a cut key will not mate up to it.
Same thing happened to me and a locksmith could not extract the piece that was in the ignition. If you are handy, this is the write up i followed to remove the ignition, disassemble the ignition and remove the key.

The first step of this write up says us a sharp chisel and hammer to remove the two bolts securing the switch to the column, but I was able to do it with a pair of vicegrips. I replaced them with phillips screws for ease of removal if I ever had to do it again.

Also once you have the switch removed from the truck you can start it with a flat blade screwdriver. I drove mine like that for a couple of days.

thanks guys but before getting to read these replies, i went to go remove the cylinder and i noticed the shear pin had already been snapped and a zip tie holding it place. when i pulled the pin and removed the cylinder it started falling apart, tumblers were falling out ect. so i removed all tumblers reassembled and wallah starts right up with anything that fits the hole. now im gotta go find an new cylinder.
