JLR Cutting 5,000 jobs
I saw that too, they are re positioning away from diesels to electric... Which makes me wonder how would you overland in an electric? You certainly aren't going to spend a weekend of the grid in the mountains or desert without recharging!!! I guess they don't care about that market anymore.
Most if not all major auto manufacturers are headed towards electric vehicles in the next decade. BMW, Merc, etc are leading the way. JLR has been headed downhill for a while. Private companies like Bollinger and others will lead the way in electric off road. Some of what i have seen are impressive actually. Using solar panels and improved batteries makes for some long road trips. And the vehicles are much lighter. But back to the point, JLR is going where the sales are which equals money. They ditched heritage long ago.
Older vehicles will be more valuable but an initial price drop can be expected.
Correct Stillruns. Diesels, electric lobby, Brexit fiasco etc, etc 5K jobs worldwide but mostly in the UK due to huge losses and international turn down in economies. The LR offerings are so overpriced now people can't waste their cash. C'est la vie!
