The Discovery was not offered for sale in the US until 1995, and the Discovery was the most popular model.
Most of the older ones are gone, made into Pepsi cans or sitting in junk yards.
So you will find most people on forums and the like have late model Rovers.
New Rovers will be going to the dealer for warranty repairs, so few questions will be asked here.

And the sticker price back in 2001 was $33K - $36K, plus freight and dealer prep, chewing gum recycling fee, and documentation fee. So Ms. Moxie got quite a deal.
Wonder what she could do to prolong the life of this "gem", knowing what this forum does about various problems unique to that vehicle. If you has a new D2, what would you do differently?

well if anyone on this forum lives in the DMV area id pay you to change all the stuff. id buy the parts. My mechanic has it now but i know its going to get expensive. Mostly id just follow by you guys example and make sure i do everything you guys post about.

So what you would like to know is any indy shops in the area that people have had good results. You don't wish for your mechanic to learn Land Rover Wrenchin' on your nickle.
Hopefully you won't need much more than fluids and belt for a while. Might want to check with dealer about what the lowest price service that could be done on it, that will get it into the current computer records system, and establish the miles in case an accident should come your way. Plus you can be sure it will get the attention of everyone in the service department, general manager just might want to buy it from you. And checking to see if there are any recalls that are covered on it would be a plus.
I'm sure some will post about decent Rover techs in your area.
