I've always assumed the number plate I wanted had been purchased by someone long ago, however now the DVLA tells you the vehicle it is assigned to it seems the plate was assigned at random to a Blue 2495cc Diesel Land Rover, registered in November 1991, probably around the Liverpool area.

(don't know model or any more than that, may even be a Range Rover?)

I don't anymore than that but if you know of "J5 PED" then please get in touch - I'd hate for it to be lost forever.
