Lost my Rover???
Last night my youngest son drove my Disco to work. He tried the other day and claimed the key wouldn't turn in the ignition lock. (funny, it works for everyone else..)
I have mixed feelings about this, Last 2 trucks I had were both destroyed when he started driving them. First was a 1986 GMC s15 Jimmy in great shape. He drove it for 2 months and ran it out of oil, and destroyed the motor. I replaced the motor and magically the transmission started leaking (again while he was driving it). Next he started driving my 1999 Expedition, and the transmission went out on that. I got him his own car, a 1993 Cavalier Convertible, a really nice car, He tore a hole in the oil pan driving through a gas station, ripped out a brake line, and bent 2 rims so far... Since it has low ground clearance, he has been eyeing my Discovery for the winter.
With the original fuel pump trouble I was having, he has been afraid to drive it. Now that it is fixed, I'm afraid I may loose it.
Might have to go out and add a 'broken truck' switch so it will be not working when I am not driving it...

Geez! Sounds like he needs to retake some driving lessons or something. Does he pay for the repairs on the vehicles he tears up? He may be a little more attentive to how he treats his vehicles if he had to spend the money to fix them.

He just has that kind of luck. always at the wrong place at the wrong time. if something bad happens, it happens to him.
Sucks having luck like that. I have had my share of it, for sure. I guess that's the way I was raised... Paying for my own stuff. I paid for almost all of my vehicle repairs since I started driving. If I didn't have the money to fix it, I didn't drive... Had to ride the bus to school. And, we lived out in the country, 15 miles to school. No friends close enough to pick me up.
When I was growing up, I always got the hand me down cars, the ones that didn't work so I had to figure out how to fix them or walk. My first car was a 1960 Corvair... Then I got my Mom's 1962 Rambler wagon with the push button automatic. Neither ran when I got them I drove both for a long time...
