most reliable model?
hey all!
to make a very long story somewhat short: i've had my 2003 discovery for just barely a year now, but on christmas eve rolled it off the highway and have good reason to believe it's totaled. for pretty obvious reasons (namely my pulse,) i've developed a good amount of brand loyalty. my question for you all is: in your opinion and experience, what's the most reliable model? i realize how silly it probably sounds using "reliable" anywhere on this forum, but i figure there at least have to be some models to steer clear of, and maybe one or two that are notably better than the rest?

Amazingly, it's the Freelander 2 that tops the reliability list.
I own and run an LR4 (a late D4) from new which has all the attributes of the LR3 but better sorted. It is a powerful 3.0 twin turbo V6 diesel and has less electrical gremlins and suspension gremlins then the LR3 but it does cost quite a chunk more dollars to buy. I have had little or no issues to date but it is a 2016 model with relatively low mileage.
Most Freelanders rarely go offroad and rarely work hard so it is probably why they are more reliable per mile than many LR's.
