Hey guys,

I'm starting my 6mos -> 2 year pre-buy process on a 1950s - 1970s Land Rover Series.

I am wondering if anyone has any sort of buy-guide for these vehicles? What to look for? Where to look? Is having one shipped from England the best option?

I am not looking to just buy a working Series... I am hoping to find something that needs some serious work. It would be cool if it ran, but ran roughly to the point where I had to pull and rebuild the engine.

I guess I'm looking for a project that I can plant in the garage for a year or so, and just sort of have in a constant state of repair.

I don't really care how much I spend... I guess, Ideally it would be less than $5k for something like this, because I plan on dumping a lot more money in it down the road.

Plus, I'd love to take a Land Rover that was probably doomed and get it back on the road.
