I remember 20 years or so ago when they introduced tread softener for old tires and particularly competition tires and race slicks. I thought I would try this 'magic' stuff out of a bottle..........hmmmm, total crap, it completely ruined the slicks although they were already past their 'sell by date' having already hardened from too many heat cycles, I might as well have soaked them in diesel fuel or brake fluid.

Although this particular magic is an 'April fools day' spoof and not to be taken at all seriously I have yet to find a 'quick fix' for anything be it a leaky radiator or a tire sealant for punctures (it rots the inside of the tire and often doesn't actually work and stop the puncture or tire deflating). You can always note the plethora of 'get out' clauses when you read these 'magic' fixes but they never mention them when selling these products and making sweeping claims to be the panacea for all problems. I suppose I'm the ultimate sceptic, it's the engineer in me.
