Agreed. According to the Ebay listing, there were only three of these made and he has two of them. The canvas top suits the older Series/Defender Rovers, and looks awesome. On a Range Rover... not so much.

Maybe that is why they only made a few, or perhaps they are a custom mod job from a shop. A factory has to think of a lot of stuff with a conversion to a convertible. As an example, I have a 93 Mercedes convertible. According to them, it has over 1000 parts that are different from the base model coupe. One problem is with removal of the roof the body stiffness is degraded or most vehicles. So they have a series of braces that "X" across the under carriage and are not present in the coupe. Plus the windshield frame is hardened steel and can support lifting the vehicle by just the wind shield frame. A hydraulic retractable roof, and rear roll bar that pops up on roll over, or hydraulic lifts slowly is also present. If some of these features are not there, I suspect either they were custom shop mod, or some kind of experiment, not intended for sale. They don't "look" factory quality, with wrinkles and puckers in the roof, etc.
