2 years away. Should JLR be worried? Supposedly JLR will have something on the market by then.

heh. I do get Jeep Cherokee Grand Wagoneer vibes from the R1S.

The R3 looks a lot like a Lancia or VW Golf.

Saw several articles today making the rounds, Autocar and MotorAuthority, for instance, about JLR's upcoming EV lineup.

I'm sure it's no coincidence this was put out immediately after the Rivian stuff.

 

Im surprised they didnt try to visually differentiate it more from the R1. Brand Identity is one thing but it essentially looks identical to the bigger model that costs 2x. Not sure I would love that if I was spending twice as much

 

The reported 68,000 who put in reservations don't seem to care. Apparently people wanted the R1S just smaller and cheaper. Im hoping JLR is paying attention (based on their press release i mentioned earlier i think we know the answer to that).

 

Put the R3 next to a Lada Niva and get back to me. Even the swage lines around the side windows are similar.

 

VW announced it is going to dump up to $5 billion into Rivian, which means it'll have more reach (and stay afloat for a while longer).
