Default Savannah Buzz Grabbed By Headhunters!

The phone rang. An industrial plant needs the maintenance and engineering department turned around.

So I'll take the new challenge, move from a under-employment situation to something that will having me working double shifts (oops, forgot that they already work half days, the first 12 or the second 12) for a 24/7 operation. Living out of a suitcase.

As such, I won't be able to devote the time to the forum that new and existing members deserve. Mike will be arranging a transition, and I'll continue to provide what support I can in the near future. I'll still be around, just not as often.

Keep posting, send lots of pix, either of broken Rovers or having fun in all the great places people get to visit. Keep the posts clean so that mom's, kids, and human resources can look over your shoulder and not be shocked. More info is mo' better. No one person knows it all, and no one person knows more than all of us.

Others should step up to moderator positions, it is interesting. Plenty of spam to remove and block, a gentle cattle prod from time to time. Every member won't be your friend, but plenty will.

Good luck, I know the stress of a 24/7 manufacturing operation. I spent my first 7 years out of college in a pulp and paper maintenance and engineering dept.

pulp & paper.... A chemistry professor named Charles Herty invented the basic processes. Several things in Savannah named for him. But he was for famous in Athens, where he brought football to University of Georgia and was the first coach. Wood pulp paper industry and coolege football, by one guy, we need a state holiday for him!

Thank you all. At past 60, good job opportunity does not jump out at you. They want a guy in his 40's, with the experience of a 70's guy, who will work for the wages of a 20 year old. We do have a lot of guys who post on here about the misfortune of down sizing, which frequently leads to Rover wrenching on your own, fiscal reality being what it is.

For those searching; Job Search | one search. all jobs. Indeed.com, search by whole state and you decide if you want to drive it.

Participation on the site has helped me stay awake and kept my mind from clogging up like a radiator with sludge.
