Quite an interesting vid Paul. I have issues with the past, it should remain there, but, the present and future look just as bleak. Power and money reign supreme the world over I'm afraid. I have been looking back in history recently, starting with the rise of fascism, WW2, then onto WW1, then the Jewish history over 200 years and I'm still investigating further back. What I find disturbing is we are now in a so called 'educated' world but behaving in some aspects as barbarians instead of nurturing the benefits of modern day society. It appears that society never learns from history and the mistakes or shortcomings but still blunders forth seeking power, principally, followed closely by wealth, money. I'm not big into philosophy as I see more often others and governments pitfalls before they do themselves, it's my pessimistic nature I assume. I enjoy discussing politics, the world and what happens but that's merely superficial as I cannot change the way things unfold. As a young person I was a great risk taker but now I'm risk averse seeing how many things are and were beyond my control. I've walked many times on the dark side and wish I hadn't latterly but I can still play a wicked game of chess along with the best These days I tend to keep clear of life's pitfalls but it is increasingly difficult when not calling the shots anymore.

Paul, call me a cynic, but, just mulling over in my tiny brain something recently in the news, the UK government voiced that maybe, just maybe, they should apologise for the slavery trade and pay compensation to the relatives. I been asking myself 'why', it happened in the 17th century, what good can it do now, who do they apologise to, what good would any 'compensation' do and who would they pay it to. It's all too little too late and these people who suffered are long dead, it's all history now, sad but true. Raking up history and apologising or paying compensation to relatives is totally immaterial now.
