Default We are back in England! :uk:

Even though I’m originally from Chicago, it feels good to be back home in England for the 3rd time. Driving a RHD car on the left side of the street came back to me as second nature.
And the Land Rover models.... Man!!!! They are everywhere!!! Back in Atlanta I’d see one Landy every 3 or 4 days. Of course here in England, every 8th car is a Landy! I’ve seen soooooo many Defender 110, Disco 1, RR Velar vehicles are everywhere and it feels good to notice this.
Even now I have my eyes on a clean ‘88 Defender 110 200tdi for 8000 quid.

Older LR's in France are as rare as rocking horse poo but in the UK they are as common as ditch water but beware, most Series and Defenders have been well used and abused by someone in their past.

I was so starry eyed when I got here and seeing older Land Rovers everywhere.
You are correct to say they are all mostly beat to hell though. So sad...

Enjoy your stay in the UK. There are a few things to avoid though, overpriced Landrovers, overpriced pub beers and the NHS unless you are on a private insurance. Eating out in a resto can be mega bucks invariably and petrol, don't even go there. Unfortunately the UK is in rapid financial decline and very overpriced but enjoy your stay whilst you are there.

The exchange rate is now about $1.35 to the pound. It’s nowway better than when I lived here back in 2001 to 2008 when it fluctuated between $1.80 to $2.10 to the pound.

You are correct sir, the exchange rates have tumbled since Brexit. The USD/GBP fluctuates around 1.35 and the euro is similar at 1.14 whereas it was riding around 1.45 prior to Brexit. The low USD vs GBP to US visitors is good news in USD but the euro rate is atrocious at present and inevitably will dive even further against the GBP. That's life
