why did you get a rover

I've wanted one ever since I was a kid watching Mutual of Omaha on Sundays and seeing the weird square trucks with the tire on the hood going anywhere they wanted.
After several attempts I bought my one owner on the wrong side of town, it has been the best auto decision I have ever made.
I like the go anywhere, the looks and the amount of accessories that you can buy.

The 98 Discovery we own is the product of my fiance wanting one forever. I hated them at first but have since learned to like the one we have. It has its problems but despite popular opinion, this is one of the easiest vehicles to work on that we have owned. We needed something 4wd but didnt want a POS Jeep and already have a GMC 1500 that sucks so something luxury with capability seemed the way to go. A G wagon was about 80 grand out of our budget so this was the next best thing. What else can you go practically anywhere in while sitting on heated seats and having every possible creature comfort? People love to hate these but you must own one before forming an opinion as we found out.

I have been driving land rovers since i was 17 in the military. Since then i have a love hate relationship with them. I have owned every type of land roverup to 2004 models appart from a free loader and a P38. My favourites were my 101 and my ex camel trophey 110.
Why do i drive landies every body asks and i say, My land rover will go every were you car will go, but not as fast but your car wont go every where my land rover will go or last as long

Well I have had, and still have one of 14 left 1988 ROVER Sterling 825SL's as my daily driver but I wanted something that required less maintenance besides a scooter! lol
Actually Ive had several 4x4 vehicles in the past and have been eying a Disco for 10 years and finally had a place to keep it and play (03 Discovery SE, 83k) ! Im going to start a roof rack soon from EMT conduit ... dust off ye old Brazing tools!

I decided I didn't need an 8 passenger Yukon Denali XL anymore since it was just me the GF and the dog. I go up to the mountains a lot to snowboard so good snow capabilities was a must. I tow a boat all summer so a V8 was a must. I also drive back to Nashville from Denver at least once a year so something with luxury was a must. The Range Rover had it all for me. Not to mention they are dead sexy. I was going to get another GMC product (last 2 vehicles were an Avalanche and the Yukon) however after I test drove the Rover I was in love!
