Default '68 Dodge Charger

A family friend gave me my first car at 15, his '68 Charger 440/727. I don't have any pictures from back then, but have some from a couple years ago. And I still have it.

First and only. And I'm no youngster, I just don't drive much. Last car before this was a 'hand me down'.

5 years ago when I was 17 I gave my older sister $100 for my 95 disco that needed the whole cooling system replaced so I bought it and let it sit for 5 months before I finally fixed it. This is pretty much what it looked like when I got it.

Mine was a 5 speed '84 Toyota Celica ST. Had front end damage, bad tires, and a lot of engine work needed. No A/C either. Got it for like $350. The transmission was good at least. I took the entire engine apart just to see how it worked, put it back together and it ran just fine for a little while before the alternator went. After a new alternator and a new battery and having it go dead again, found it had a short. Gutted the entire passenger compartment and found the short in the driver door. Painted the engine, painted the interior, lifted the suspension, did all kinds of stuff to that car. Ended up doing like 120 mph on the highway once. Not bad for a little 4 cylinder that could barely run when I got it.

1986 Jeep Comanche, straight 6, stick. Learned how to drive a manual transmission with that truck. Got a speeding ticket 3 days after passing my road test(got a perfect score, no points off, Lol); still had my paper license! Got into plenty of trouble with that truck, but well worth it.

My first car was my moms 1969 AUDI 100LS.. with 120,000 miles on it when I got it.... It broke down so much my twin brother and I learned EVERYTHING you could about this HORRABLE car ( carburater springs breaking every week)... my first new car was a 1993 Range Rover..... my first rover and I learned alot about poor cooling systems on early rangies!!! I just sold it with over 192,000 miles on it...Damn, I loved that truck. It was replaced with my 2000 DII which I still have! I have only had 4 cars in the past 27years.... I tend to keep them a while... lets hope my 2010 Range Rover has what it Takes to last 15-20 years.....!!!

My first car was a 1954 Oldsmobile 88. My grandmother in 1965 decided to purchase a new car and gave her old car to me when I was 15. She had bought the Olds new in 54 and had only put 20,000 miles on it. I don't have a picture but it was a big green tank of a car. It was my HS school car and I especially used it as my pheasant and duck hunting car. Got it stuck down to the belly twice out hunting and had to have laughing farmers pull my sorry *** out. One of my cousins stuck a dead Green Wing teal under the seat as a joke. Wow, did it stink up the car eventually before I figured out what was going on. I had one accident in it when an elderly gentleman ran a stop sign and clunked me. He asked me after he hit me "Did I run the stop sign?". He was a bit out of it. Nice guy though. Did little damage to my green "tank". I miss that old "tank". Took me and my teenage hunting buddies a lot of places.

My dad bought me my first car for my 15th b-day. A 63 VW baja convertible. It was t-boned 2 weeks after I got my D.L. I spent a solid 1/2 day stripping and building another baja. (hack saw-chisles etc.) I should have worked a little slower as the car looked good, but driving it would keep a fella distracted. It would pop out of gear-find the gear and the drivers door would pop open. Slam the door and the fiberglass hood would come up. Reach out and slam the hood and the glovebox door would fly open and freeze you. Then the pass. door would open and the cycle would repeat. I can't believe my girfriends would ride in it, but they thought I was too cool. Oh ya- the car was always so thick from smoke, (bad valve cover gaskets) you could hardley see through the windshield. good times then.
