Default 1987 Range Rover Inertia Switch

I’m working on my Range Rover now just put a new fuel pump in to fix my fuel problem and it seems I have ran into another problem. With the inertia switch down the pump continues to pump fuel even with the key off. And then with the switch up there is nothing. I don’t know a whole lot about the inertia switch but I don’t think it should be supplying power to the pump at all times even with the car off? I know there is a constant supply of power because I currently have the tank out and tested it before putting it back in when I discovered the constant stream of gas

Yes id io to the fuel pump relay under the passenger seat also. Check the gray and white wire if I remember correctly for constant voltage or if its been bypassed with a jumper. Stuck relay will do this also, its ihe silver one with a red stripe. Unplug it and see what happens.
