Default inertia cut off switch for 1997 disco

Might be a dumb question but........
When I press the switch should it stay down?
I drove and parked my vehicle and then went to start next day... fuel pump not working. I changed the fuel pump and checked the fuses, now checking various components for power. Any of the pros know of "the usual suspects".
Thank you,
Ralph.

Nope, most don't. Fuel pump controlled by multi function relay in box on fenderwall. Inertia switch simply in series with that.

Should hear pump run for like 2 seconds in position 2 of key.

Default Fuel pump not working...no power.

Is it possible to put power on the lead to the inertia switch to test from that point back for connections and fuel pump oeration?

Default only 1 fuel pump relay?

There is no relay under the glove box is there? I only know of the relay for the pump and injectors under the hood as 1 unit.

Just the MFR. You can apply 12 volts at the inertia switch and the pump should run. It draws about 5 amps.

Default will try the pump from that point

Thank you Buzz.
I have had my Rover for over ten years, the electrical has always been a pain.
