Unhappy Best way to SCRAP my '11 HSE?

Sad day, but I have a warped cylinder after blowing a coolant line and the engine overheated. New engine or retool the current block will cost more than it is worth. Even sadder, I just plowed about $5,000 into repair of the suspension and other things. I think I have to scrap the car. Anyone have similar experience or suggestions?

By scrap do you mean take to a yard or part it out? I believe you mean parting it out which would be the better option. Is the rest of the truck in good shape?

Yes it is in great shape. Needs a new engine. Everything is great on the inside and I have new (non OEM) air suspension. Radiator replaced about 2 years ago. Tires are still really good. Problem is even a refurbished engine is over $17,000 and the car is worth no more than $16,000.

I’m not the expert on the LR3-4’s but $17k for a rebuilt motor sounds high. Hopefuly someone else can chime in on this one. If the rest of the truck is in good shape and working order, seems like a shame to part ways over a motor? How many miles on the truck?

You can find used engines for less, if you call around.

Thank you all for the replies. I have about 120,000 miles. I will ask about the other motors. I am at the mercy of the shops in my area since I cannot do this myself.

BTW $17,000 was the total installation price, not just the cost of the engine.
