Hello. I have a question in relation to compression tests.

Does anybody know what readings or range in Bar should a healthy, newly overhauled 3.5 V8 efi High Compression 9.35:1 engine should give? Std measurement pistons fitted with new liners.

I don’t know exactly the 3.9. For comparison, my 4.6 with 190,000 km is 165-170 psi on all cylinders. I would think your 3.9 shouldn’t be hugely different.

Thanks for your reply. Actually mine is a 3.5l. I get readings between 9.5 to 10.5 Bar. I was told in another forum that its actually ok for a newly build engine.

 

Those are probably good. It’s a good sign when they’re all roughly even, as yours are.
