Default Purple wire for what?

Hi. What is this purple wire/connector for? It’s purpose? I cannot locate the another one. See the pics.
Ok if I leave it permanently disconnected?

That wire is the 12 volt positive for the REAR Dome Light/"Courtesy Light" SWITCH.
Check to see if the rear light switch is in place (in the door jamb), then remove the one screw to see how the wire connects (just a male tab).

If you need a new switch they are cheap and can be had at almost any rover parts supplier.
The part number is PRC8548..... GOOD LUCK!
