Pivo pro infotainment problems
So, first posted on here to report flickering screen day after I drove my new Evoque out of the garage which happened every time I changed songs using both phone and directly on pivi pro. Then it started happening regardless of my phone being connected and was ongoing. Took it back to garage and they said they did a software update but the problem persisted, tried contacting Landrover but calls not returned and any attempt at contacting on social media ignored. Not impressed with their customer service, I’ve spent a lot of money on a brand new car but they don’t seem to be interested in helping.
So, found this forum and a helpful person had advised how to do a reset by holding down volume button for 20 seconds with engine on, that seemed to help for a week or so but then other problems started. Lane assist no longer worked, neither did voice commands or apple CarPlay when messages came in (kept saying error unable to read message), speed limiter warning doesn’t work and reversing sensors intermittent. I ignored these, largely because I know landrover don’t seem interested in helping or retuning calls and also because at this point I just felt I would live with it.
Then yesterday, my Range Rover completely shut down, parked on drive and steering wheel locked after I switched engine on, with failure notifications coming up. Infotainment systems was dead and didn’t even pop out like normal. So tried dealership (again...still hadn’t called me back from previous attempt to call them over a week ago) and got same fob off response about service dept being busy and someone would call back. So decided to drive down there, again they tried to send me away, telling me I needed to be booked in or take it back to where I bought it from (which was another main dealer much further away), but I insisted that they listen to me and eventually they agreed to have a quick look at my car. Their explanation as to why I continue to get problems is that the previous software update hadn’t cleared the first software update and so two updates were trying to sync and override one another. Not sure if this is true (and not sure if it really explains why my steering wheel locked) but will see how I go. Not holding out a massive amount of faith given my experience of owning this car for 4 weeks, but let’s hope it is fixed.
