Rr evoque turbo and engine issues
Hi All,
I was advised that my 2012 RR Evoque (Diesel) required a new turbo. This was replaced and when I picked the car up the mechanic advised me that if I heard any weird noises to bring it back (I had already paid 3.5K at this stage). I noticed a noise immediately and took the car back. He took the car for a test drive and said the noise was not there before and that it was safe to drive the car home. I wqs not comfortable doing that and said I need them to advise why the noise was there. They eventually came back to me and said that when they received the car that it had extremely low oil (not true) and the car now needs the bottom end of the engine rebuilt which they cannot do.
I am considering legal action but am wondering if this is a common problem? If I knew this to begin with I would not have fixed the turbo. This will now cost me tow truck costs and independant assessment costs of about another 1k. Is an independant valuer to assess if they are liable worth it or do I cut my losses?
Any advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
