06 Range Rover HSE Brake Gremlins!
Okay, so I think this car doesn't love me like I love it! Going down the road after driving 4 or 5 miles, I get this slight rumble, feels like mainly from the rear. After a short time the rumble turns to a pretty rough shake. So I've got this theory that one side or another, the fluid isn't returning from the caliper piston, therefor causing the overheating (I can smell it), and the issue. So, I saw with some of the BMW year L322's there is a kit for replacing the rubber hoses from the main hard lines to the calipers. Doing the hoses and flushing the system is a can do. Just wondering if anyone else had an issue like this and if there is a definite fix.
While soft lines do go bad and have a rated life its possible its actually just the caliper that is seizing up. If you can smell brake burning it should be very easy to ID which side is the issue. I will be replacing all my calipers in spring with results. Already have some new soft lines to install too, then I can get it all in one go.
