Default 06 LR3 HSE Brake Problems

Hi guys! Recent LR3 purchaser here. Been guest browsing for awhile and thought it’d be a good time to join in on the conversation!

The issue I’m having are the brakes. The front driver brake seized while the vehicle was in motion. The vehicle resisted and rumbled, like driving over “sound grooves” on the highway shoulder.

The driver rotor was especially hot. Replaced the brake caliper and bled the line of the brake hose. No abnormalities in the hose, everything seemed fine. Now the front passenger brake is having the same issue!

I’m not sure if it was premature to assume to brake caliper was the culprit. The caliber was pretty rusted and the pistons fully engaged. But do calipers usually seize up in pairs without there being some underlying issue? Any tips on this? Thanks!

I had both fronts go out within weeks of each other. I think both might have been connected to the guide pins starting to seize up

Thanks! That makes me feel more comfortable replacing the front passenger one too.

Would you mind sharing if you did just the calipers or any other brake work while you were at it?
