Default 2004 range rover hse SHUT OFF

Please please help. So i have i range rover 2004 and outta nowhere on interstate car cut itself off and wouldnt start back up. I let it see for a day the next morning it started back up drove some and cut off again. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THIS COULD BE. Mechanic said TUNE UP. But i need to know forsure before i put money into it... Any suggestions

Any codes? Could be a vacuum leak. Could be the fuel pump.

Only codes i had was a misfire. But mechanic saod that wouldnt be the reason it keeps cutting off

It very well can be. Sounds most like a vacuum leak but there can be several issues at the same time.

The problem is the Crank Position Sensor. Replace the crank position sensor and your problem solved !
