not a cheap motor in your area NY/CT I just did a commercial sourcing and it looks like they are going between $6500 to about $3500 depending on mileage.

Did you break the timing chain. Seen it a few times
If not they run pretty good. BMW engines are identical so sourcing one isn't too bad.
