2006 l322 4.4l v8 radiator replace
2006 l322 4.4l v8.
radiator slight seeping on drivers side, some signs of coolant. on bottom plastic tray.
no overheating signs, no drips on floor i drove around like this for maybe 5-7k or more...maybe occasionally filling some coolant maybe a cup every 1-2 months.
ordered radiator, replacement does not have drain petcock, but seemed the same.
remove all airbox, intake hose, fan and fan shroud.
t25 is your friend on some fasteners on back of fan shroud.
fan nut is righty loosely lefty tighty
fan shroud comes out in pieces or you can take apart only one piece drivers side with t25 plastic comes apart
took all fan and shroud out thru the top.
the radiator is encased in a plastic type holder, take out the holding plugs rubber nut 13mm on top then on top of radiator there are 2 clipons that come off, the radiator lifts straight up. did not remove ac high pressure line just move away gently
hoses have a clip lock which i removed and then you need to wrestle with the hose to remove...there are orings inside that you need to replace. for all 3 hoses.
fill radiator to top, unscrew bleeder on top of throttle body and fill from there as well and bleed like crazy for several cycles with heater on.
the replacement radiator fit, but missing the 2 holes for the plastic locking pins for the shroud had to drill those on top
when doing this job i did remove the grill front to wash the condenser with soap....try not to damage the condenser while doing this job.
*when i first started this job i thought the whole plastic casing needed to be removed but luckily after removing the top 2 clips, the radiator slides out and new one slides back in +1 for the designer engineer on this one
