2010 Quality RR HSE Alternator
Hello all RR owners/enthusiasts,
I would appreciate your experience & feedback please. My 2010 RR HSE needs a new alternator P/N LR124471 (well, it needs a voltage regulator, unfortunately looks like the VR is a "Captured" part) so never mind. I have seen a wide range of manufacturers & price for new alternators: $1150 at the dealer for a Denso HK83-10300-AB/MS1042118981, Duralast Gold Alternator DLG1701-16-3 $215, Bosch YLE500390 $165, Bosch® W0133-2731417-BOS $275, ... Anyone has experience with any of the manufacturers listed or other manufacturers please? Thank you!!!!!

Look at it from a economic standpoint. You could try each one and replace it after it failed and still have money left over from the price difference. Alternators are not very complicated devices. I would start with a Bosch, which where OEM up to a few years ago. Now you could also be economically served by sourcing a pre-owned Voltage Regulator. Like from a salvage outfit. Voltage Regulators don't age out anymore, old carbon pile ones did, but your talking 1950's. New ones die due to something going on in the charging circuit killing it, like your alternator. So save a coin or two and get a used one, not much to lose but a pile-o-money.
