Default AJV8 4.4 Coolant Bleeding Procedure

Hello everyone. I promise I did look for this answer, but all I could find was info on the BMW motor (including the version of the RAVE I have). I'm looking for the coolant bleeding procedure for the 4.4 AJV8 (2008 L322 HSE). I assumed it was just your normal procedure: Remove reservoir cap, remove bleeder screw (on reservoir), add coolant to full range, start rangie, heat on max, keep adding until a steady stream of coolant flows through the bleeder screw, button up system, go on with life.

What actually happened was.. Got to the point where the I buttoned everything up, but the heat was luke warm at best, and the temp hit 235.

I should mention that I'm bleeding the system because my dumb-*** nicked a hose while having to use the screwdriver through the oil filter trick (first and last time I'll ever let a shop change my oil). System was 100% before this hose replacement. So, I assume there's air in there somewhere, and I'm just bleeding it incorrectly. Any guidance would be appreciated.
