Default Finally bought a L322 Range Rover

Picked up a 07 Supercharged in Java black has demons and rust. Once I replace the alternator I’ll have to decide if it’s a daily beater or a parts truck. It was certainly cheap so we will see

A battery drain was definitely an issue it has. While pulling codes I noticed that it was letting the smoke out of the alternator. Guessing it was internally shorted out. Grabbed one out of a parts LR3 now to swap them in and see where we go

Jesus this is definitely not as easy as the alternator on the RRS or LR3. I’m 99% sure I have to pull the fan and shroud to get it out and the new to it one in

Ok I was able to fight it out and get the new used alternator installed and back together.

Been working through its other issues and cleaning it, then cleaning some more and then again

So the paint was looking pretty thrashed when you looked at it. I know it has rust holes but what the hell lol

so I broke out the buffer and the secret sauce and got to work

Well the first on road trip went as expected

some minor issues otherwise drove very well. A few codes popping up after sitting for a year or two unused is no shocker

Pulled the wheels to check the brakes found the damaged sensor lead on the right rear. Also found all the tires were badly dry rotted and cracking throughout the tread. So I pulled a good set off a parts LR3 for the time being. So it’s riding on 19’s for now. Those Brembo brakes are massive! Had to play my favorite Land Rover wheel game a few times and found a split cv boot on the right rear as well.
