New member with weird suspension issue...please help!
Hello to all. I hope I'm going about this the right way. I've been searching forums and can't seem to find an issue quite like mine. I have a 2004 Rover with around 128k miles. It drove perfect up until the time that I parked it for about 2 months. I have other cars so I was driving them and left the rover in the garage. During that time the battery died and the suspension dropped. Later when i decided to drive it, I removed the battery, put it on the charger and reinstalled it. It fired right up but the vehicle did not raise up.I have a BMW that I use INPA to diagnose so I plugged it into the Rover and reset the errors. The vehicle eventually raised to normal height and I thought all was well....but when I DRIVE it, the front raises ALL the way up and the rear sits low. It looks like Ice Cube's 64 impala. I drove it back home and immediately after exiting the vehicle, the bag on the passenger's side BUSTED with a loud boom! It sounded like a 12 gauge! So anyway I ordered a new strut and replaced it but the vehicle still didn't raise on its own. I can go in INPA and manually raise the suspension and it will sit that way for days without lowering or raising. It only raises when I drive it! I can ride through the neighborhood and come right back home and the front will raise to its HIGHEST settimg. I drove it on the road and got up to 60 mph hoping it lwould level out but no..the front goes all the way up and stays that way until I lower it using INPA. Is there anyone that can offer some type of advice? Taking it to the dealership would be my last resort. I think its something simple that I'm overlooking. Again, the suspension was fine before I parked it and it only raises all the way when I drive it...there's no leaks and I'm at wits end..PLEASE help!! Sorry for being so long winded.
