Tips When Looking at a 4.4 (Jag) Model
Hi everyone. It's time to retire the D2 from daily driver status, and I'd love to get my hands on a '06-09 (preferably 08/09) 4.4 full-size. Everything I've read say the 4.4 is damn-near bullet-proof, which is a workd I never thought I'd live in, coming from a D2 haha. Are there any usual issues with these that I should specifically look for when shopping around? Obviously, I'd like to see a mountain of service records, but it's the "be sure to check the.... and the..." that I'm looking for.
Thanks!
Thanks!
The engine has a few small glitches with the thermostat housing and coolant bleeder tee but otherwise is extremely good.
You will run into problems with age but there are very few big gotcha’s on those trucks.
Also moving this to the L322 forum since you are after a full size.

Thanks. Didn't realize I was in the qrong spot. Sorry.
So, I've herd they have issues with "the o-rings going into the back of the engine", which I'm assuming is a coolant line? Is that the case on the 4.4, or was that guy thinking od something else? I haven't really found anything else about it anywhere.
Oh, and with the t-stat housing issues, is that a failure at the hose ends, or internal/debit traveling through the system issue? Not sure how to checknfor that during a test drive session haha
