Question 2017 Autobiography 5.0L V8

My curiosity is getting the better of me here, so here it goes lol.

I was in the market for a used RR and feel like I found one that matched pretty much everything I was looking for. I have heard of the horror stories with LR and the parts issue, but still was going to roll the dice, especially since it was coming with a 48-mo / 60K additional bumper to bumper warranty through a third party (which checked out reputation wise). This was a 1-owner 2017 Autobiography 5.0L V8 with 50K miles and I couldn't find anything wrong with it and thought it drove great (coming from 2023 Expedition). The day I go purchase it, a warning light comes up and the dealer calls to ask us to wait while they diagnose it. Something with the seat and the airbag system.

Anyways, they can't get the part apparently, I asked for the part number so I can take a look to see if I could find it from any third party sites and I can't find ANYTHING about this part. Even on Land Rover's site it states it is no longer available (https://store.landrover.com/parts/in...nd/land-rover/).

The part number is: 419125026
How often does this happen with older LR's? Do they just make the parts that are needed at the time once they are this old or is this just from the major parts shortage LR is going through?

You should be able to get the part from Land Rover. That part number you provided states it is for 2013-2022 year models. Are you buying the car from an authorized LR dealer or an independent?

They are authorized. They have checked other dealers and my understanding is they reached out to Land Rover to have the part made. I was trying to check some of these used Land Rover part sites to see how difficult it is to get parts myself if I ever had to.

Wow, that is surprising! Another source could be junk yards for Range Rovers that got totaled. Good luck with your quest.

Yeah, the website says it is no longer available. I was trying to figure out if this was going to be a thing with Land Rover or I just got lucky and the first thing to fail was going to be a giant PITA

That's the harness for the seat if I am not mistaken. When it comes to harnesses LR takes a while. They do not have a supply ready, they make them to order when a replacement part is required. Most automotive harnesses are made in the Ukraine, and with their current struggles it will take a bit.

We ended up cancelling and decided to get one when the parts situation isn't so bad. Thanks for the response though!
