Hi All,

I recently bought an L405 and absolutely in love with it. The only negative about the car is one of the previous owners of the car has clearly used the upper glove box an awful lot as the latch and the hinge are totally knackered, to the point that if I set off too quickly it will flick down.

Does anyone have any ideas how easy this is to take out and replace? Also if its relatively easy to remove the leather off the current box (as its in good condition) and replace it on one Ive found on ebay which is damaged on the outside

Wow, it looks like something got spilled inside. I would personally peel off the inside cover and then try to replace it with a similar type cloth by using an adhesive. An upholstery shop should be able to do it for you.

 

The hinge is screwed aswell? Would need a new door aswell? A full glovebox is 40 on eBay from what I’ve seen!

 

For 40, just go ahead and get it from ebay and have a body shop install it for you if you do not want to do it yourself.
