Cold Start Idle Too Fast
Hello,
I recently stripped down and replaced the head gaskets on my year 2000 4.6 ltr Thor P38.
Everything ran perfectly before the strip-down (apart from the blown head gasket).
I now find that when starting from cold, the revs shoot straight up to 2500-3000.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received because it never did that before strip-down.
Kind regards,
Tony

It could be as simple as a throttle cable being interfered with and too tight. I think you could try posting this in the D2 section, which has the same engine. There’s a lot more traffic on that part of the forum.
