Default De-computerize a P38?

Do any of the P38 gurus know if it's possible to go bare-bones with one and remove most of the computers? I'd like to make a simple beach "tractor" out of mine. All I need is to crank the engine, put it in Drive, and be able to brake, as the air suspension was already swapped for coils by the previous owner. I'd like to make it as simple as possible and only leave what's necessary for the engine to run. Tall order, I know, but maybe just maybe someone has done it before.

Thanks!

I’m sure it’s possible but it will be considerable work. There are ways to get the Engine ECU to ignore the BeCM. I know the transmission uses BeCM at least for torque converter lock up and maybe shift points. For HVAC you could add mechanical controls easily. If it’s working fine now why not just use it. As you know they are awesome vehicles.

That answers my question. Probably easier just to keep it working as it should. She’s my off roader so it’s not driven very often and I was looking to simplify.

”Working fine” is always relative for us
