Wheel Binding Problem 2001 RR
So yesterday I finished installing new upper and lower ball joints on my 2001 RR 4.6 SE. I took it out on a test run to see if everything was working. When I turn to the right the drivers side front wheel seems to be binding. It feels like a coil spring is twisting bringing the vehicle almost to a stop then it releases and drives fine. It is like every fourth right turn I make it does this. Even when leaving the driveway.
So what has been done.
Changed out the front drag links drivers side and pass. Everything seemed just fine, drove it for awhile until I pulled back into the garage to replace the Ball joints.
Next, I replaced the upper and lower ball joints.
Everything has been torqued to its specifications per the service manual. All that has not been torqued to specs is the Hub locking ring. Service manual calls for 196lb but all my torque would go to is 160lb.
What i did notice is that the boot around the cylinder piston was torn on the brake caliper on the drivers side but I don't see how that would intermittently cause binding. When I put everything back together I did not have to compress the pistons back into the cylinder which is common with brake repairs. They sipped right back over the pads which I noticed where pretty new.
Also when I removed the rotors they did not separate from the axle and came out as one piece even through all the bolts and thee screw where removed.
Any help would be much appreciated.
