All the possible errors, engine doesn’t start/crank
Major problem❓❗️
Today I was on the motorway and all of the sudden the car lit up like a Christmas three as you could see in the photo. I stopped in a safe place and the engine just don’t want to start/crank
displayed errors:
Transmission Fault Limited Gears Available
Suspension Lowered
Transmission Fault Traction Reduced
HDC Fault System Not Available
Engine System Fault
System Fault Special Programs not Available
Park Break Fault
warning lights are on and I can’t switch them off;
temperature gauge is at high;
car it’s unlocked itself twice after turn the key in second position
A few days ago cruise control stopped working and yesterday after I changed the front wheel bearing I had an error about handbrake parking that disappeared after I switched the engine off and back on.
Battery seems to be fine because light are working as normal and horn. Any I didn’t measured the voltage…
tried to start it with jump leads (with 2 different sets) without success
I took the instrument cluster to a repair shop, nothing changed. (is it possible that they didn't fix it?)
Errors showing on tester:
IPC (Instrument Cluster Control Module )
U0001-87 High Speed CAN communication bus -pending
RLM (Ride Level Control Module)
U0122-87 Lost communication with vehicle dynamic control module - permanent
PAM (Parking Assist Control module)
B1B36-01 Front right outer sensor
Did you ever get this figured out? I have the exact same problem. LR3 has been down now for about 4 month. GAP tool says:U0001-87 (27) High speed CAN
communication bus
I have sent off the cluster for repair and still nothing. I didn’t have the GAP tool before I sent it. Any info would be great. Thanks
What other codes is the Gap tool giving Rover_ham? If possible post screen shots off all the codes. For a quick start though with the ignition on put a meter in pins 6 and 14 of the DLC and see what your voltages are measuring each pin with the red lead in it and the black to ground.

I have since got the instrument cluster to clear, but still have the others. I understand the suspension faults I think. I have converted my airbags to coil spring several years ago. The kit was from Atlantic British. I have sent the ECM and Cluster off for repair but all ok with them. Still not crank. Pin 6 is 2.43 and Pin 14 is 2.36. A little history. My daughter drove the LR3 last July on a warm dry day with our 2 small dogs. Unknown to her one of the dogs was standing on the yellow downhill assist button and she said the car was driving funny but running fine, which I assumed was because of the down hill assist being engaged. She parked and went inside to put the dogs away and back out 30 min later and nothing. Hasn’t ran since. I thought maybe something shorted out with the dog standing on the button. Just a guess. I have also changed the brake light switch and bulbs. Thank you for the help. Very much appreciated.

Ok those voltages are not great, but with the truck not running they are possible. I do not like that you have 2 modules reporting no coms with the vehicle dynamic control module. That is the ABS module and the brains of a lot, including the HDC the dog activated. Can you try to communicate directly with the ABS / Vehicle Dynamic Module with the GAP tool and see if you can. If you can not I would then disconnect the battery and take a resistance reading ohming out from pin 6 to pin 14 on the DLC. A good reading is 60 ohms. If you have 120 ohms there is a problem on the CAN bus
Ok. I will give it a shot, but it may be tomorrow before I get to it. I will let you know as soon as I get the info. I thought about changing the ABS module. Could a defective ABS module cause this problem? Thank you again for the help.
A defective ABS module could cause this, but let's confirm that's it before you throw one in. That will need to be programmed. No worries on time for me, it's your truck haha
Ok. Scanned again today with the GAP tool
and the instrument cluster was back. I was not able to communicate directly with the ABS. Every function I tried to perform ( even a mock brake bleed) came back with an error. I disconnected the battery and pinned 6&14 and I got 41.1 which seems odd. I checked several times and it was always between 42-41.2. Here are pics of the most recent scan.
