Anti theft steering wheel and break locked 2013 rr sport
So frustrated with this vehicle. Anybody besides me that tries to drive my car will get the steering wheel and break locked. If you don't hold the start button and hold break long enough the car thinks it's getting stolen. Locks up break and wheel. Can't turn car on. This keeps happening and I've seen nothing on the subject. If anyone can tell me how to get it unlocked it would be appreciated. Key fob works fine. This and leaks are my only issues with this vehicle.
Hi Enzo, did you ever get a reply to your issue, how did you overcome the problem. I have a 2012 RR Sport and I am having the same issues. If you have not started the car and you grab the steering and turn it slightly or you knock the steering or you press the start button without pressing the break pedal it locks the steering wheel.
When I go to start the car, the ignition doesn't unlock the steering and engine does not start. The lights on the dash come on but does not start. The only way I was able to overcome this issue was to hit the face of the steering wheel lightly and turn the steering wheel up and down slightly from the lock position and at the same time press the start key with the break pedal on. Eventually the lock disengages and I am back to normal.
Now I make sure I press the break pedal before I start the car and keep the steering wheel in straight position before I turn off the engine. When I hop in and out of the car, I make sure I don't hit or touch the steering wheel for fear it will lock again. It has happen to me about 4 time now and I have had the car for 8 months.
Does anyone know what is causing this issue and what the fix to this issue involves?
Cheers!

Thanks for the tip, seems odd the battery being the issue. Did you have any other issues with the car at the time other than the steering wheel occassionly locking. Were you having any trouble with the remote or ignition at the time.
I don't have any other issues other than the steering wheel not unlocking locking when depressing the brake pedal and start button.
I will get my mechanic to check whether the battery is holding the correct voltage.

Have had water leak issues. Still only has 95k miles on it. Leak is passenger shotgun well. One tailgate lift broke.. 100 bucks. New battery. In 2.5 years. I mean you get a used range rover bc the ppl v4 you most likely took care of it. 7 months zero steer lock. I'm sure it's a weak battery.
